Lizzie Hale - Biography
Lizzie is a painter in oils. She is a musician as well as an artist and this undoubtedly goes some way in explaining her lyrical abstract style. The flow of her paintbrush seems to mimic the languid rhythm of a beautiful symphony.
Her landscapes and floral works are well known, but now Lizzie has taken the sea and boats in sail as her latest inspiration. These new works share the same loose execution and are evocative of a playful freedom. Kandinsky is clearly an influence, and abstract relationships between line and colour play a part in every painting. She says her work begins without knowing what the final result will be, a mysterious and exciting journey, the destination unknown until the painting is completed.
Do you remember that lovely Christopher Cross song "Sailing"? It certainly reminds me of Lizzie's paintings.
