Emma Hill - Biography
Emma Hill is half Norwegian. As a child she was encouraged to live an outdoors life, hiking, swimming and being allowed to roam the forests close to her Grandmother’s house. Her Grandmother told her tales of Trolls and Fairies and Emma’s imagination took flight. And so did Emma. Instead of going to Art School she embarked on years of traveling as BA cabin crew. Whilst her colleagues took their breaks on the beach young Emma took herself off to just about every well known art gallery and museum in the world. So her style of painting is, shall we say, all her own. You can see every influence under the sun, from pointillism to Aboriginal, from pop art to Rosemaling. Her signature dots have linked diptychs and triptychs and have now morphed into a series of paintings which again link together both pictorially as a storyboard and also with Emma’s childhood. If I didn’t know better I would think her inspiration was chemically based.
Such is the popularity of Emma’s work that a range of products based around her character Mimi is in the pipeline. In the meantime, tune into her blogspot.
