Brian Tutt - Biography

Brian Tutt has been with New British Artists since our inception in 1999. As one of our founding artists he is held in great regard by NBA.

Brian has quite a following for his psychologically perceptive paintings. He manipulates and reinterprets landscapes and situations so that what at first sight feels familiar is overlaid with intrigue and ambiguity. His background in photography is apparent in his compositions and his paintings command feelings of both unease and stillness. Brian always alludes to a narrative but leaves the viewer to suggest their own interpretation.

Brian has exhibited widely in the past ten years and enjoyed particular success at the Affordable Art Fair each year. Brian has just won the UH Recording Prize which means that one of his paintings will be used as the front cover of a CD in 2011, an international showcase for his work.
