Betty Bilston - Biography
Betty Bilston studied textiles at Winchester School of Art. She has always enjoyed combining different mediums like paper and butterflies, or metal and textiles. A reoccurring element in her work is the use of multiplies and the impact they create when placed together.
Betty is drawn to materials that can be manipulated and transformed from two-dimensional into three-dimensional sculptural forms. With a simple crease she transforms paper to create her butterfly silhouettes for the ‘Butterfly’ series.
After completing her degree in 2008 she moved to London where she now manages a commercial art gallery (unfortunately not for New British Artists!) and creates work from her central London studio.
