'My work is about the joy and sorrow, light and shade and fact of being alive. Consider the alternative.
In these images, my aim has been to express the maximum of meaning with the minimum of artistic means.
Influences on my work include Classical vase-making, William Blake, Matisse, late Picasso and Basquiat.

Brian Palmer was taught at school by R.B. Talbot Kelly and gained a British Travel Association Poster Prize and a Royal Drawing Society Award. His career then took a different turn and he was for many years a Sunday painter, before returning to study with Janet Unwin at The Campden Institute. He subsequently studied under Sir John Cass and has recently gained a Fine Arts Honours Degree. His work appears in both corporate and private collections.
Brian Palmer made the first television commercial to be shown on UK television, for Gibbs SR toothpaste.
