From the artist

“Images of beaches have a universal appeal with many similarities apparent in beach shots from around the globe. The geographical processes of wind, water and erosion that form the landscapes occur over many years and despite their geographical distance these beachscapes have a common topography."

Biography

“Images of beaches have a universal appeal with many similarities apparent in beach shots from around the globe. The geographical processes of wind, water and erosion that form the landscapes occur over many years and despite their geographical distance these beachscapes have a common topography.

When we look at these landscapes we can sense and understand the essential processes which both unite and differentiate them. Looking at these defining features I highlight key essential motifs, selecting specific sections to give added depth which both reflects their romantic aspect and accentuates the geological forces from which they were formed. Thus wide vistas of land, sea and sky are interrupted to suggest the underlying folding and fracturing forces”.
