artist's biography

Biography

D.O.B: 1967

Stephen studied visual communication and fine art before embarking on a career in graphic design. He has over 20 years experience within the creative industry, both in London and New York. In recent years he has been developing his desire to focus on photography as the main medium for expression.

His commissioned work, within the publishing, editorial and creative service sectors, has included such clients as Harper Collins, Wonderland magazine and Getty Images. Having worked predominantly with 35mm and medium format film cameras, Stephen has also been working with their digital counterparts for the last two years.

Stephen’s style is also in demand for creative portraiture and he has photographed the artist Peter Blake and Stuart Craig, the production designer for the Harry Potter films, amongst others.

Stephen’s graphics background shows clearly in the deceptively simple lines and flowing forms of his photographic imagery. The strength of each image is enhanced by the use of a monochromatic or muted colour palette and a distinct lighting style.
