artist's biography
"Having always had a passion for costume and interiors I love to combine found fabrics, ribbons, feathers and wallpaper with drawing to explore my interest. Colours, pattern and detail come together with appealing forms and use of space to form my pieces.
I also enjoy applying this passion to animal and bird drawings and love to create humorous images. Having been brought up in the countryside, wildlife has always brought me great amusement and intrigue which I like to try and express in my drawings and paintings."

About the artist:
Anna Wright is a freelance illustrator and designer with experience in fashion, interiors and food. A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Anna moved to London where she worked for the well known designer Katherine Hooker as the production manager, whilst continuing with her illustration as a sideline. However Anna now works full time as an illustrator from her home in Scotland where she carries out private commissions and prepares art work for exhibitions. Inspired by costume, interiors and humour, she has created a diverse portfolio of work. Among her favourite themes are costume and collage (shoes, underwear, jewellery), combining drawing with a flamboyant mixture of fabric, feathers, ribbons and other found materials. Animal and bird images feature regularly in her work.
